Beginning February 23, 2012 SoCal will be offering a strength and conditioning program for members and non-members on
Mondays and Thursdays, 4-5 p.m.
At SoCal our focus isn’t just volleyball. Part of being an athlete of any kind includes the ability to understand the value of a healthy lifestyle, how to work-out, stay fit and increase ones strength, agility and cardio, all of which are very important aspects of injury prevention. The skills taught and the training provided work hand in hand, especially to anyone looking to make it to the next level in school, club or the colligate level.

Biographies
Coach Ben “Moose” Moselle
Ben Moselle graduated from San Dieguito High School (Encinitas) in 1993, and played on three national championship teams at UCLA (’95, ’96 and ’98), earning AVCA All-American honors in 1998. When Moselle graduated with a degree in economics that year, he shared (with Kevin Wong) the UCLA team record for most aces in a single match.
Moselle was volunteer assistant coach for the Rutgers University men’s club team in 1999, and then went on to earn an MBA degree at UC Irvine in 2002. Since that time, Moselle has conducted private and small-group volleyball lessons in the San Diego area. For the 2010/2011 club season, he was head coach for Genuine Volleyball Club’s 12U-Elite team in Carlsbad.
Moselle is a certified personal trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine and lives in San Marcos His full-time job is in publishing. In his spare time, he breeds saltwater clownfish.
Coach Audrey Green
Audrey Green graduated from San Marcos High School in 2005. A dual sport athlete, Green began her collegiate career playing basketball on athletic scholarship at SDSU. The following year she transferred schools and sports to Palomar College refocusing on volleyball. In her sophomore campaign Green earned AVCA All-American, 1st Team All-State, and Pacific Coast Conference Player of the Year accolades while leading the Comets to a first place finish in the PCC. Green completed her athletic and undergraduate career at Division II powerhouse UCSD (La Jolla) earning a degree in psychology while competing for head coaches Tom Black (now at LMU) and U.S. Olympian Ricci Luyties.
Green has over 7 years of experience coaching volleyball and basketball from ages 7 to adult. She conducts private and small-group personal training and volleyball lessons within San Diego County.
She is currently coaching the SoCal 16-2 Swamis squad with fellow instructor Ben Moselle.
Green is a certified personal trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine and is studying to be a Posture Alignment Specialist (PAS) through Egoscue University. Future plans include earning her master’s degree in education or business.
Mike LoBue
(MA, CSCS, RKC, USAW) who has 15 years of coaching and strength and conditioning experience. He is currently head track and field coach at La COsta Canyon High School. He was also, most recently the co-head coach for the San Diego State Track & Field Team while also serving as the team’s strength and conditioning coach. He is currently on the national staff for The International Pole Vault Summit where he has been a speaker and developmental coach for the last 14 years. He also worked as an assistant track coach at the University of Utah, Fresno State, and the University of Nebraska as well as Golden West High School.
Many of Mike’s athletes have excelled while working with him. At the 2008 USA Olympic Trials for Track & Field, Mike coached four athletes—three in the pole vault and one in the shot put. Mike relishes the challenge of training people and enabling them to exceed their expectations. He is passionate about finding the right way to inspire, motivate, and help each individual or group achieve their specific fitness and performance goals. Athletes and clients appreciate his straight-forward approach to training and his commitment to the individual.
Mike is a NSCA certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and USA Weightlifting Level 1 Olympic Weightlifting Club Coach. He has a master's degree in Psychosocial Aspects of Sport from the University of Utah. He is also a Russian Kettlebell Certified Instructor (RKC).
